Are you trying to be a Pro Dad?
Just came across an awesome resource for Dads. Its a website called AllProDads. The site is geared towards getting fathers involved in their childrens lives. Tony Dungy is one of the main promoters on the site. In the upper right hand corner there is a link called “Free resources”. There are many articles. I especially liked the articles in the “Top ten” category. There are articles like ten tips for improving as a husband here.

Just came across this good post about family devotions. The one concept that was a new thought to me was that each child should have their own Bible during the Bible reading time. Usually I try and get out the Bible and have all the kids listen. It never occurred to me to have them get out their own Bibles. We probably need to purchase some additional kids Bibles but that is a small price to pay for family devotions. I still need to come up with a “box” to put the Bibles in or maybe a shelf.

Thank you for everyone who came to my Wichita TPA session. It is encouraging to see all the men with an interest in discipling our children. Hopefully you received lots of useful information. I know I was convicted of many things I need to to improve on after hearing Voddie Bauchum.

Just heard about a new mini-conference put out by family life. There is at least one being hosted in Wichita. This would be an excelent idea for Valentines day. I have attended a weekend to remember and they are excelent. This is similar but you watch videos instead of live speakers. Some of the videos include challenges from Voddie Baucham, Al Mohler and others. Click on the picture above for more information. You can find one being hosted in your area.

Google just launched its ebookstore. This along with other ebookstores could provide some additional resources for homeschoolers. It will at least open up options to read out of print books.

Just came across these quotes from Le Corbusier. Thougth they had some merrit for the homeschooler.
“The schools are run by “professors” (the very definition of a school). The professors teach according to the prescribed programme. The programme is prescribed by authority. Is this authority in touch with life? Occasional only. As life a programme? No, life is explosive.”
“Teaching is only possible in the workshop. Arithmetic and handwriting can be taught in schools. But invention originates in the workshop.”
“No door is closed. Life goes forward… make nothing academic, never say: that is the end!”
